Burb- Round 6- House 8

Here we are back at the Burbs!  In residence are John and Jennifer (elders), their daughter Lucy and her husband Carter (Broke- Brandi's 3rd son) and their toddler son Bradley as well as Lucy's young son Donny (courtesy of a fling with Don Lothario).

Lucy's initial wish was to sell a great novel. Her true hobby is Film and Literature so that gave her a nice boost!

Lucy's LTW of course is to have 5 top businesses.  This internet cafe is called 'Lucy's Cup of the World' and was rank 3 went we joined it this round. Lucy and Carter are running this one themselves as it pretty much runs itself. They hired one townie to serve coffee which leaves Carter free to 'start gaming competition' so that others join him, while Lucy sells entry tickets and generally chit chats.

Jennifer had a wish to buy new clothes, and so came back with new outfits for her and John.

Pleasure sim Carter likes nothing more than having a good time, here he is teaching his party guests some kind of drinking song. :)

His secondary aspiration of Popularity got a massive boost when he'd made 30 best friends! You can see 3 'Games' hobby plaques in the background- you'll often find Carter, John & Jennifer at the chess board!

Bradley became a child and yay, another excited makeover!

Anytime my back is turned in this house this is happening, which of course leads to other things, which of course leads to...

yep. 13 days from elder. Unlucky for some eh?

When her business is rank 5 Lucy finds her perks are all filled up.

John and Jennifer retired. John's wishes revolve around hobbies, both gaming and nature whilst Jen's are all about games and art & crafts.

On Thursday Lucy reaches rank 10 in her 3rd business and immediately goes home and sells it back to the community. She then rolls a wish to buy a community lot!

She buys Lucy's Galleria, an art dealers.

All they need is a member of staff for the Register and so they hired Leo Wilkie, who had a Bronze badge.

Carter worked on Sales and Lucy wished to become adept at Restocking, but took over on the Register when Leo took a break.

Back home and John & Jen went to the park- he wanted to fish- she wanted,

to meet someone new and play chess. Oh look there's Goopy and his doppelganger Gordon Wolosenko... don't believe me?

See? Ok, different skintone but still remarkably similar!

Once Bradley's wish to play marco polo was fulfilled he then wished for a pool slide!  Never seen that before!

Lucy and Carter welcomed a little girl into the family! She is called Lowry. (What? I'd just opened an art gallery!). heh.

and things are moving along very nicely- here Lucy got her Bronze restocking badge.

John got his Gold gardening badge and good wishes fulfilled when teaching his grandaughter her skills- he was the only one who rolled wishes to teach little Lowry.

Carter got invited on an outing by his good friend Yusun, who also happened to be one of Don Lothario's many lovers, along with Nina Caliente and Marisa whatsername- oh dear... a threeway fight ensued...

and the outing ended, very abruptly!  Disaster! :D

Carter stuck to a party at home instead,

but then a fight broke out between Hans Goth and Dina Caliente?! What was that about?!
Carter asked Dina to leave and saved the party score!

Donny became a teenager and rolled Pleasure- his LTW? To have 50 first dates!

So.. he energised and called the matchmaker!

and had 4 dates in a row!  All 'good'- because that way they won't bring a flower and your sim won't get busted!  heh. The matchmaker stuck around long enough to ask for 2 dates so that was useful.

By Sunday Lucy's Galleria is rank 8 and Leo got a rise after gaining Silver in register.

Life is Good at the Burbs.

Summary-

Jennifer- daily wishes to play pc, play chess, blog about arts and crafts and games and meet someone new. Her 5 are easy!  She was top of SCIA, she lost ranks a couple of times due to chance cards and when had reached the top she retired. She gets over 1k a day in retirement pay.  Other wishes were to skill, tell inside jokes and when left alone was found to be kissing her husband and swinging little Donny around.

John- daily wishes to play pc, blog, catch bugs, plant seeds, talk about hobby. Also wished to slow dance, fish, get gold in gardening.  John loves his wife and grandchildren and in his non- controlled time is always with them doing some activity or other!  He (finally) learned Parenting.

Lucy- Has really grown on me! Yeah, the 3rd baby not planned and not had much mummy/daddy time but am working on it! Lucy wanted the new business and to get badges in restocking. She always wants to hire someone. She actually wanted the baby. Also wants on a daily basis to sell a novel, write a novel, watch a movie, read a book and meet someone new.
The first business I ever had in Pleasantview (back when I got OFB) was infact an Art Gallery- run by the then teenage Lucy Burb. Heh- so it came back to me when I was trying to figure out a new biz and I remembered how easy it was to rank up. :D  It helps having the perks of wholesale fulfilled. (and the funds to buy the art, of course).

Carter- Is all about Pleasure. He wishes to play pc, talk about hobby, meet someone new, play marco polo, have parties. He loves group outings even though that last one turned Disaster very quickly. How funny was that message? Never seen that before! He got Gold in Sales at the Galleria.

Donny- so much fun now he's a teen! He wants to play on the pc, the sofa, to juggle and to date! So far the 4 dates in one go. I've never done 50 first dates so I'm going to try for it this time. Donny also often wishes to 'light a fire', odd child. :)

Bradley- wanting to skill, play marco polo, slide on his new pool slide :) He likes making friends and getting homework done.

Lowry- still a toddler with usual toddler wishes.

Whew- I need to sit down.

  1. An art gallery, I have never done that one. I will remember that. OMG @ scrubbing toilets! I have never seen that before either. hehehehe! (I did however see one one time that was something about chewing the leg off rather than date again. Erm. The playable Sim was scared to death by a ghost during the date, and died. LOL) Jennifer and John don't seem to be embracing elderhood like Lucy Hanby did. At least they have each other tho! Donny is good looking!

  2. I like the different businesses you do. Certainly never saw the "scrub toilets" before, that was interesting. Just as a hint on dates....if you use the matchmaker just get the date up to a decent level and then use "say goodbye." If you say goodbye instead of end date the date score doesn't drop. Makes it so you can usually get 3 out of the matchmaker in one visit and you can get through 6 dates in a day (most of the time.) :)

    2. I've gotten 2 or 3 sims through that LTW in uni now, but I used to have the HARDEST time with it. I cannot remember which blog I got that tip from, but I'm so glad I did. :D
